The Meter app doesn’t collect your data. There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking in the app. What you add stays on your iPhone, and nothing is sent to us. This website uses Google Analytics only if you allow it.
What Meter keeps, and where
Your homes and their addresses, bills, subscriptions, inventory and settings are kept by Meter on your iPhone. We never receive a copy, and we can’t see it.
If your iPhone backs up to iCloud or a computer, Meter’s data is part of that backup, protected the way your backups are.
Camera and photos
Meter uses the camera only when you scan a receipt. The picture is read on your iPhone and deleted as soon as it has been read.
If you choose a photo instead, iOS gives Meter only that one picture.
Apple Intelligence
On iPhone models that support it, Meter uses Apple’s on-device model to tidy receipt names, suggest categories, and understand what you type or share. It runs on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us.
Address search
When you look up a home’s address, what you type is sent to Apple Maps to suggest matches, under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Sharing into Meter
What you share to Meter waits in a private inbox on your iPhone until Meter sorts it. For a web page, Meter reads its title and price on your iPhone.
Reminders
Renewal reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. Meter uses no push notifications, and no server, to send them.
If you email us, for example to join the beta, we get your email address and what you write. We use it only to reply and, for the beta, to invite you through TestFlight.
The beta
The beta comes through TestFlight, Apple’s app for testing apps, which Apple runs under its own terms. If you send feedback or a crash report through TestFlight, we see what you chose to send.
Children
Meter isn’t directed at children, and the app collects no personal information from anyone.
Deleting your data
To remove a home and everything in it, open Settings in Meter and choose Delete Home (you need more than one home). Deleting Meter from your iPhone removes all of its data. To have us delete emails you sent, write to support@getmeter.app.
This website and cookies
getmeter.app uses Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to count visits and see which pages help, but only if you allow it. Until you choose Allow in the cookie banner, nothing from Google loads and no cookies are set.
If you allow it, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_0JESRL851J, which last up to two years. It records the pages you visit and for how long, the site that sent you here, your browser, device and language, and your approximate location (city and country), worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn’t store IP addresses. Its advertising features are off, and we don’t combine this with anything else.
Google processes this information in the United States and other countries, under the Google Privacy Policy. Google Analytics keeps the detailed records for two months.
You can change your mind at any time: choose Cookie settings (also at the bottom of every page), then Decline. That stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies.
Your cookie choice, and Light or Dark if you pick one, are kept by your browser on your device. They aren’t sent to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
